Wisent in Zawkrze Land

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have the honor to invite you to the ttwenty-third international meeting dedicated to the European bison.
The conference will be held near the wisent enclosure in Krajewo, which is under the watchful and loving care of the Dwukoły Forest District.
The enclosure is only two years old, but it stands out among others for its location in the Zawkrze Land. This land, bordered by the Wkra, Łydynia, and Orzyc rivers, functioned as a separate administrative unit from the second half of the 14th century until the partitions of Poland, with Szreńsk as its capital. Zawkrze Land is located in the North Mazovian Lowland, within the Mława Hills, Raciąska Plain, and Ciechanów Upland. The terrain is mostly flat with low hills, dissected by shallow river valleys.
Visit to the enclosure in Krajewo is planned as part of our meeting, in addition to the main purpose of exchanging experiences and discussing issues related to the protection and breeding of wisent.
